First night in Beijing

After our guide got us checked into the hotel, she took us to dinner at a nearby restaurant within walking distance ... she picked the food and it was delish! From left to right - a yummy mushroom & green bean vegetable dish, fried rice (top), garlic broccoli (bottom), and Kung Pow Chicken.

She also ordered us some lovely Chrisanthemum tea (I'm sure I butchered the spelling but you get the idea). There were no tea bags, just fragrant flowers in the tea pot. Yummo!

Our hotel lobby - The King Wing Hot Spring Hotel.

I thought this screen thingy was cool - don't know what it's made of but I liked it :-)

Turn-down service in our room, complete with slippers several sizes too small :-) They were out of rooms with a king size bed, so we got 2 smaller beds instead. Still works!! You can see the desk I am sitting at now off to the right.

So far, we really love China! The food was delicious and our guide, Lisa, is so wonderful!
