So we had a pretty rough night last night (Wednesday night) ... poor girl is grieving her foster parents, we think. She cried for a long time last night before bed until DH rocked her enough that she passed out. She slept great once she was asleep - it's the getting to sleep part that was the problem for nap and bedtime. So in the morning when she woke up, DH got her and fed her a bottle ... she didn't drink a lot, but it was a MAJOR improvement over past times.
She also rocked it out at breakfast - she ate almost a whole pancake and an entire carton of yogurt. The consistency is much more watery than yogurt in the US, but it smells like yogurt! LOL.
She REALLY enjoys "real" food ... not so much bottles, although she is getting better with taking them from us. I know a lot of that has to do with us figuring out how to feed her too! I've fed lots of babies, but she is a whole new experience. SHE knows how to do it, but it's a steep learning curve for us! We're all settling in a bit though, and I'd like to think she is trusting us a bit more after this AM.
PS - that's a napkin she is playing with. I'm telling ya - everything is a toy with this girl! Who'd a thunk it ... a napkin!! It's so fun to watch her discover life!

You'll be an expert by the time you come home. Looks like she's doing great. Lydia wouldn't take a bottle from either of us the first day and then only from Mark for a bit. Brooklyn looks like she's adjusting really well for only day 2.
ReplyDeleteLooks and sounds like she is doing GREAT! She is over a year...does she still need the bottle, if she is eating the table food so well? Just wondering :-) She sure doesn't look starved...LOL
