T minus 23 hours

Ok, one last shot of Sunshine before her surgery tomorrow! This isn't my best work, but I don't have a lot of options outdoors without getting in a car. This is in her room but the north-facing windows don't let in much light, so this image is grainy. Still adorable though :-)

I am at peace with her surgery ... I've done my share of praying and I know there are lots of people out there also praying for our special little lady. God has His hands on her and that's plenty good enough for me. Can't get any better than that. In fact, I think I'm kind of excited for
Sunshine ... although I don't mind being a spectacle when out in public, it's not fair for her to always go through that. I'm looking forward to her being seen as more "normal." I could do without the recovery process but nothing good in life is easy, right?

Thanks for praying along with us. I will update the blog just as soon as I can - her surgery is scheduled for 11:15am tomorrow morning :-)

"Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
Philippians 4:6-7

  4. I just left this prayer over at Amy's, but wanted to share it with you here, too, so you knew you had one more person praying. I loved the video!

Lord, I thank You for raising up people like the Chrysts, people who respond to the call to take in those who do not have a home. I thank you for their open hearts and their willing spirits. I pray protection over their family as Brooklyn undergoes her surgeries. I pray for steadiness of the doctor's hands and for wisdom to help him get everything just so. I pray peace as the parents wait in the waiting room. I pray that your glory is revealed, in this, and in everything.

  5. Thank you so much for sharing your adoption video with us at Amy's. I am in tears. It was beautiful, and I am thankful with you guys and for you guys, that you've found a family in one another. All of your children are beautiful. I will be praying for little Brooklyn as she surgery and for you all because it's never easy to watch our little ones go through scary times like these. Nice to meet you, and I look forward to hearing updates :)

  6. Dropping in from Amy Sullivan's blog and wanted to say I'm praying for Brookyln's surgery tomorrow. Asking God to extend grace, peace and a very successful surgery and healing process. Praying for big sister and brother as well. :) What God has called you to is really neat and He won't stop guiding and directing your steps now.

  7. Father I thank you that you specialize in miracles..that we can come together as community of Christ followers and lift our hearts up to You..we lift up this family as they put this sweet little girl into your hands tomorrow..we pray that you guide and direct the Drs as they do their work..protecting Brooklyn with no complications. I pray your presence be felt and surround the family. We wrap all of this in thanksgiving...coming by for a visit from Amy's. I want to leave my neighbor's blog walkinginsunshine.blogspot.com. They have adopted one from China and are waiting for their TA for their second little girl. They are adopting her from New Day Foster Home of which I have a heart for their work. 8. Nicole - Will be praying for you guys tomorrow. God will be holding sweet Brooklyn right through her surgery, just as He has since the day she was born. Prayers for peace for you, and comfort for her. After Kara came home from China, she had to have major surgery, and we were out in Cincinatti for over 3 weeks. It was so hard, but God was so present. His presence is so powerful during these times, and these are the times He will mold you even deeper and greater than before. She is so very precious. Please update when you can. XOXO

  13. Eager to hear how it all went. It's a big day and a big surgery. With as much as she's going through and how hard it is on you to see her go through it...what a blessing that she has a momma and a family to love her and comfort her in the days ahead.
Take it all one day at a time. She's such a sweetie!
