Flexico

We had a bit of a change of plans yesterday because of the weather.  Instead of visiting the pyramids first, we did a work project here at the church in the morning.  It was mostly clean-up, and you'll also see that Katie helped Justin work on the roof!  Adrian and Lula currently host church in their living room and dining room but are in the process of building a separate church on their land.  That's what we were working on yesterday and will also work on today.  The main goals were general clean-up from past projects, the roof of the new building, cleaning out the children's Sunday School room, and moving the outhouse (for guests in the future).  Barb also helped with some gardening - nothing like having some beauty around you to see God's handiwork!  Here are some of the things we did in the morning ...

In the picture below, you can get kind of a bigger picture of what we're doing - Adrian and Lula's home is on the left -the girls are sleeping in the loft at the top.  The building to the right will eventually be the church.  The concrete slab to the right of that is a basketball court that another Mission group poured.

There is still more work to be done on the outhouse and many other things, which we'll tackle today.  It started raining pretty good right around lunch time - God's perfect timing!  After we finished up odds and ends, we hopped in the vans with bag lunches (that Lula and their friend, Coleen prepared) and headed to the Aztec pyramids.  WOW what a sight!  Truly miraculous, reminded me of the Great Wall!  I was too pooped to climb to the top but many of our group made the trek and said it was amazing.  It was really just inbelievable to see the size and all of the detail!

Adrian was having a little too much fun with my camera, as you can see.  He befriended a stray dog and also turned the camera on himself. LOL.  What a hoot!

Today, we are heading over to a local private school where Adrian's mom teaches to talk with the class in English.  We're all really excited about that!  Afterward, we have a full work day ahead of us here at the church.  Can't wait to see the changes after a full day!  It was really cool to see all we were able to accomplish in just a few hours, I know today will bring big changes!  We are all having such a good time, albeit a bit tired ... everyone is getting along so well and is working together perfectly.  Lula and Adrian, along with their friends, Coleen, Justin and Tracey have been awesome - they have this serving thing down to a science and we have felt SO welcomed.  It is easy to see God working through ALL of them here, what inspirations they are!

After today, we head to Puebla tomorrow around lunchtime for VBS.  The Evangelist there was unable to find a home for us to stay in, so we will be staying in a local hotel ... LOL.  We're all not quite sure what exactly to expect but are all up for whatever is thrown our way.  The people of the church there will be taking care of all our meals and we'll be doing odds and ends that need to be done during the day (VBS in the evening).  I am fairly certain I will not have internet access while in Puebla, which will be through Monday morning, so I'm not taking the netbook :-(  I will try to text DH a few pictures though and have him post to FB if we can swing it.  I will also try to get one more post in either tonight or tomorrow morning, but I don't expect to be posting much over the next several days.

THANK YOU again for your support, we can surely feel all of your prayers!
