Santa on the Firetruck

Our local Volunteer Fire Department was so very kind to come visit our neighborhood the day AFTER our blizzard. It does seem that our local heros often go unnoticed, so I want to say a humongous THANK YOU for all of your hard work ... it is definitely noticed by many.

On a light note, Lovebug was clinging onto DH for dear life ... I'm not sure if he was scared of the noise or Santa. Angel on the other hand, refused to come outside because she didn't want to see Santa (I guess we're not over the whole not-liking-Santa-thing). Santa saw her hiding inside by the window though, and waved to her anyway ... too cute :-)

Blizzard Dec '09

Lovebug really wasn't very excited about the snow
This was the only smile I got the whole time, and he wasn't even looking at me!
Our snowy house with the beautiful sun overhead

Lovebug went inside shortly after this. Angel stayed out with me. We got that cool NYPD hat in NYC last month, she was dying to wear it!

Angel's first time snowtubing EVER! She had a total blast and wouldn't even let me go with her!

Of course she HAD to make a snow angel!
Pretending to be a cat crawling through the snow :-) We went inside right after this, it was cold!

So we got almost 2 feet of snow on Saturday! Angel went outside with DH on Saturday as the snow was falling ... but today was way more fun. You can see Lovebug wasn't super interested in what was going on, but Angel had a BLAST! She went snowtubing for the first time and totally loved it (I think a snowtubing field trip is definitely due!)

I had some interesting lighting to work with ... snow is rough to photograph!! These aren't perfect, but I got some great shots to commemorate the first blizzard for the kids!

Angel with Santa

Angel has never been thrilled with Santa ... so I was happy to have an almost-smile in the first image. We definitely don't make a big deal about Santa (which is maybe why she isn't very excited about him?) because we want her to understand what the Christmas celebration is really about. But, it is a little fun to let her imagination run wild :-) If you look closely, you can see "Reindeer Food" in Santa's hand ... this is the second year Angel has gotten it and she LOVES to spread it out on the front porch on Christmas Eve.

I have a boat-load of images from Angel's Pre-K Christmas party. But I didn't upload any of them because I didn't get permission from any of the parents. I can tell you that the kids definitely had a good time though!

PS - I apologize about the graininess of these, the ambient lighting wasn't the best.
